Safety is the cornerstone of the work of the Division of Forestry. Whether it's in the suppression of wildland fires or the management of our state lands, we must always consciously work with safety as our number one priority. The safety programs provide the enhancement of specialized and technical skills necessary to carry out the successful effort to protect and perpetuate Florida's forest resources.

The Safety Office works closely with the Division of Forestry's assistant director, bureau chiefs and deputy chiefs in the development and administration of safety, EMS programs and risk management issues.

The Safety Office within the Director's Office is responsible for the researching, planning, designing, implementing, directing, and evaluating of statewide safety programs for the Division of Forestry. The Safety Office also conducts systematic investigations and analysis of incidents involving DOF personnel, programs and properties.
