State Forest Photo Contest

See the Big Picture...

Starting October 1, 2009, the Division of Forestry invites you to participate in Florida’s State Forest Photo Contest. Submit your photograph(s) taken at one of Florida’s State Forests for a chance to be a quarterly winner. The quarterly winners will then be judged for the Photo of the Year. Quarterly and annual winners will have their entries featured in Division publications.

State Forest Photo Contest Entry Periods

All Winners will be announced on this website
Autumn: October – December, 2009.
Winner announced by January 10, 2010
Winter: January – March, 2010.
Winner announced by April 10, 2010
Spring: April – June, 2010.
Winner announced by July 10, 2010
Summer: July – September, 2010. Winner announced by October 10, 2010
State Forest Photo of the Year announced by October 10, 2010

What Are the Photograph Categories?

  • NATURE: wildlife, plant life, and natural landscape.
  • RECREATION: hunting, fishing, trails, and camping.
  • ARTISTIC: creative and illusion.

Ready to Get Started?

  1. Read the CONTEST RULES (pdf) for a complete description of how to submit photographs, accepted photo formats, judging, use of the photos, and prizes.
  2. Download and complete the PHOTOGRAPH SUBMISSION / RELEASE FORM (pdf).
  3. Download and complete the MODEL RELEASE FORM (doc) for each person whose face is recognizable in the photograph. Note: This form may not be altered or edited in any way.
  4. Submit your photograph(s) either by:
    • Emailing your digital photograph(s). The completed Photograph Submission / Release Form and Model Release Form(s) should be included in your email. See CONTEST RULES (pdf) for details.
      OR
    • Mailing your digital photograph(s) on a CD or DVD. Please do not send prints. Be sure to include the completed Photograph Submission / Release Form and Model Release Form(s). See CONTEST RULES (pdf) for details.
CHECK BACK AT THE END OF EACH CONTEST QUARTER TO SEE THE TOP PHOTOGRAPH FOR EACH CATEGORY AND THE QUARTERLY WINNING PHOTOGRAPH. THE WINNING PHOTOGRAPH MIGHT BE YOURS!
