Lake Talquin State Forest (LTSF) Management Plan Advisory Group
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Forestry (DOF) and the Lake Talquin State Forest (LTSF) Management Plan Advisory Group announce two public meetings and a public hearing to which all persons are invited.
Public Meeting
- Date and Time: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 6:15 pm
- Location: Bear Creek Educational Forest, 8125 Pat Thomas Pkwy, Quincy, FL 32351
- Purpose: To allow the Lake Talquin State Forest Management Plan Advisory Group to prepare for a public hearing later in the evening which will provide recommendations to the DOF to help in preparation of a management plan for the Lake Talquin State Forest
Public Hearing
- Date and Time: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 6:30 pm
- Location: Bear Creek Educational Forest, 8125 Pat Thomas Pkwy, Quincy, FL 32351
- Purpose: To solicit comments from the public on the management of the LTSF. Comments may be presented orally or in writing at the hearing. Written comments may also be submitted to the DOF’s Lake Talquin State Forest at 865 Geddie Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32304, to the attention of Chris Colburn
and should be mailed so as to arrive at the office by the date of the public hearing. Download LTSF Agenda (pdf)
MPAG Meeting
- Date and Time: Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 9:00 am
- Location: Bear Creek Educational Forest, 8125 Pat Thomas Pkwy, Quincy, FL 32351
- Purpose: To allow the LTSF Management Plan Advisory Group to review comments from the public hearing of August 31, 2010 and provide recommendations to the DOF to help in preparation of a management plan for the LTSF.

Copies of a working draft of the plan and the management prospectus are available by contacting the LTSF in writing or by phone.

You are hereby notified in accordance with Chapter 286.0105, Florida Statutes, should you decide to appeal any decision made as a result of, or take exception to any findings of fact with respect to any matter considered at the hearing and meeting referred to above, you may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made. Such record shall include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
